While Kingo SuperUser usually works well, some owners of rooted devices still desire more and seek instructions on how to replace Kingo SuperUser with SuperSU. If you also find the performance of Kingo SuperUser less than ideal, you could use ES File Explorer to substitute SuperSU for it. Not exactly tech-savvy and have no idea what must be done? In that case, you have come to the right place.
Note: It would be troublesome if your phone runs out of battery in the middle of the process so charge the device to 100% in advance.
- Step 1: Download and install ES File Explorer then proceed to download SuperSU apk to your smartphone.
- Step 2: Open ES File explorer, make your way to SuperSU apk and rename it to SuperUser.apk.
- Step 3: Select Tools in ES File Explorer, choose Root Explorer from the list, enable it by toggling on the switch and hit Mount R/W.
- Step 4: Check the RW checkbox for both Path and /system options, hit Ok and navigate to the Device option. Next, click System, tap Apps, long-press Kingoroot SuperUser and pick Delete.
- Step 5: Copy the recently renamed SuperUser.apk, go to Device > System > App and paste it there. After you finish, close everything and restart your phone. When the screen comes back on, open SuperSU and give it permission to install all the binaries. Once the process completes, SuperSU should be ready to use.
