How To Run Setup Wizard 

  • Step 1: Open the Language dropdown menu to set the language.

  • Step 3: Proceed to click Let’s go, check the End User License Agreement checkbox and pick Next.

Root ZTE N817 No PC

Usually, Android users could root their ZTE N817 with relative ease if they have access to a PC but root  ZTE N817 no PC is still a holy discussed topic. If you want to root your ZTE N817 but don’t own a computer, you must install the recovery.img, SuperSU and Rashr-Flash Tool. Not exactly tech-savvy and have a hard time rooting ZTE N817 on your own? Then you should find this article helpful. 

What Must Be Done 

  • Step 1: Open Settings, select Security, choose Unknown sources and hit OK. 
  • Step 2: Launch your web browser, go to Konsta, download and install TWRP (http://konstakang.com/devices/kis3/TWRP/). 
  • Step 3: Proceed to download SU SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742 (link https://download.chainfire.eu/1021/).
  • Step 4: Download and install recovery.img as well as or_recovery.img (https://github.com/jag9906/n817_twrp). 
  • Step 5: On the Home screen of your phone, launch the Google Play Store, search for [ROOT] Rashs Flash Tool then download and install it. 
  • Step 6: As soon as the installation finishes, select Open and choose Allow in the Kingo SuperUser window.
  • Step 7: If you see the Warnings popup, tap Backup to back up your original Recovery and press I know the risk.
  • Step 8: Click Recovery from Storage option, scroll down and pick recovery.img you recently downloaded. Proceed to hit Yes in the Warnings window. 
  • Step 9: In the Partition flashed window, click Yes. 
  • Step 10: Launch the TWRP, select Install, scroll down and choose the SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742 file. Remember to swipe the bar at the bottom to confirm the flash.
  • Step 11: Click Wipe cache/delvik, swipe the bar to confirm and pick Reboot System.
  • Step 12: Go to Apps then device whether the SuperSU app is installed. 
  • Step 13: Launch the Google Play Store, search and install an app remover. For ease of convenience, we use the System app. 
  • Step 14: The moment you see a prompt asking for root permission, hit Yes. Scroll down, check the box next to the SuperUser app, press Uninstall and click Yes in the warnings window. After you finish, click Yes, go to the Recycle bin on the top, select SuperUser and choose Delete. You must hit Yes to confirm. 
  • Step 15: Install your preferred ROM (here, we use VMOS). Open VMOS, allow all permissions and wait for the ROM installation. After it completes, install the VMOS Tool. As soon as the installation wraps up, go to the VMOS Setting, choose ROOT toggle the Enable ROOT option and wait as your phone reboot. 

Note: The root status will not be permanent. If you want to make it permanent, a PC or laptop is required. 

Rooting ZTE N817 Via PC: Instructions 

  • Step 1: Connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable. 
  • Step 2: On your computer, launch the web browser, visit the ADB Driver website and download the latest version of ADB Driver Installer.
  • Step 3: Open the Download folder on your computer, click the installer, and hit Run to open. In the ADB Driver Install 2.0 window, click Install.
  • Step 4: Navigate back to the browser, go to the adbshell website and download the ADB Kits. Proceed to open the file, create a new folder on your PC, and extract the adb.zip to the new folder.
  • Step 5: Open the new folder, hold shift, right-click the new folder and pick Open command window.
  • Step 6: Type adb devices then hit Enter. A list of devices attached will appear. Type abd reboot disemmcwp, hit Enter and wait as your phone reboot.
  • Step 7: Visit Kingo Root website and download the latest version of Kingo Root for PC version. 
  • Step 5: Right-click android_root.exe file, pick Run as administrator and follow the on-screen instructions. The moment the installation completes, restart your computer. 
  • Step 6: On your ZTE N817, open Settings, hit About phone, and tap Build Number seven times. Back out to Settings, select the Developer option, choose USB Debugging, check the USB Debugging checkbox, and press OK. 
  • Step 7: On your computer, open Kingo Root, ensure your phone is connected to your computer using a USB cable, and tap OK on your phone screen. 
  • Step 8: Hit Root on your PC screen to initiate the rooting. 
  • Step 9: Assuming that the rooting ends in success, Kingo Root is going to display Root Succeed. 
  • Step 10: On your phone, go to the Google Play Store and install Root Checker, then open the application, and click Agree to the disclaimer. Follow the on-screen prompts and select VERIFY ROOT in the Verify Root tab. Select Allow when the SuperUser pops up. Last but not least, test out the rooted device. 

ZTE N817 Won’t Turn On: Analysis 

If you cannot turn on ZTE N817, there is a good chance that the battery is out of power.
